COVID-19

CURRENT STATE

In light of the drop of the citywide face mask mandate in Kansas City, MO, we have updated our clinic mask policy.  As of April 13, 2022, we recommend that unvaccinated guests wear masks upon arriving and that you keep the mask on (over mouth and nose) the entire time while in the clinic, including in the lobby.  There is no set limit to guests allowed in rooms, and we will continue to remain respectful of distancing when possible.

Please know that we are taking every possible precaution at Union Hill Animal Hospital to protect you and our doctors and staffs so we can remain open to take care of your fur babies.

SO, HOW CAN WE WORK TOGETHER?
If you feel ill or have been exposed, please quarantine at home and call or text us at 816-931-4930 to discuss service, treatment, and/or product options.

AppointmentS

CURBSIDE CONCIERGE SERVICE

You can have your appointment completed while you wait in the comfort of your car if you prefer.  We will call or come to you, collect your fur baby and a history, and call you once we have performed the examination to discuss the findings. If your fur baby requires additional diagnostics, we may suggest that we turn your appointment into a drop off allowing you to leave, if necessary. We would then discuss the results with you by phone once the tests are completed. Any recommended and approved treatments or hospitalization would then be performed. When it's time for your fur baby to return home, you may remain in your car and we will bring them to you.

Please call 816-931-4930 when you arrive to let us know you are here and your vehicle make and color.

DROP OFF APPOINTMENTS

In a similar fashion, we are continuing to offer drop-off appointments.

CHANGES TO EXAM ROOM PROCEDURES

  • Masks are recommended for all unvaccinated guests.

  • We are quickly putting clients into cleaned exam rooms and performing checkout in the exam room to reduce time in our lobby.

  • Please know, we are following strict cleaning procedures in between appointments for our staff, rooms and equipment.

  • Credit cards are preferred, and we are no longer requiring you to sign the Square iPad.

  • Please come prepared with your questions and concerns written down so that we can proceed through appointments as quickly as possible to limit guests in the hospital.

PRODUCT PURCHASES

In a similar fashion to our appointments and drop offs, we are offering Curbside Concierge for medication refills, heartworm & flea/tick products and food.  Please give us a call ahead of time, we will prepare your order and collect payment by phone.  Call when you arrive and we will bring your goodies to you!

We recommend having 2-4 weeks of food and medicine at home for possible home quarantine.  However, we intend to do everything possible to make sure we are able to continue to provide these products for you and your fur baby!

Please take a shampoo sample to bathe your fur baby if you believe they have been exposed (they are fomites like our hands, so they just need a bath) and members of the family are not vaccinated.  Please do not use disinfectants or sanitizers on your pets.

IF UNVACCINATED, WHAT CAN YOU DO AT HOME?

  1. Follow the current CDC recommendations and practice safe social distancing.

  2. Be careful around other fur babies if you feel ill.

  3. Wash your hands frequently, and keep your hands away from your face.
